Charles “Sircharlesthepoet” Joseph is a poet born in Haiti. At 11 years old, Charles discovered America. Soon after his discovery of the States, at the age of 12, Charles started writing. He initially started with music and rap, but after 8th grade, he decided to stop pursuing music but continue with poetry, instead.
Initially, Charles only wrote love poems, but after coming to a realization, during 12th grade, Charles decided to stop writing about love. He started to explore other subjects. Later on, instead of fully banning the subject of love from his poetic career, Charles decided to explore the subject in ways that the subject is rarely explored in. An example of this is when he takes the reader along in a journey in his mind as he sees “the girl of my life” in a New York City train, in the piece, “My Life, in My Sight”. Another example is “Sin on Paper”: a piece about a guy who is haunted by the memory of a girl whose heart he had broken, to the point where he’d rather die.
Ultimately, Charles doesn’t write about a specific topic—he writes about everything and anything. So on his poetry blog and Instagram pages, you will find a great variation of poems.
