My shadows are smart.
They don’t follow me into the chaos;
Not stepping one foot into the starlessness
Created for me.

More vibrant than the nerdy girl
Is their smile in my light.
It’s their chance
To draw me into plight

Consume the luminous atmosphere
That dares to scrap their walls
Or whistle near their floors
It’s their chance to reign again

Shadows:
Reflections of your darkness,
Your demons striving to retain life
Because demons, used to be angels.

As I die, I always wonder
If birds will pause their chatter
If singing will bow, in the shower
If spark is found somber.

Before my eyes close and I give in
To unknown and imagine,
I always wonder
If television will snail through dull scenes
If train will be. And its behavior not bothered.

As I lay in depth, I can’t help but ponder
If my bed will miss me when it’s time
If pillows will repeal masks, wear sackcloth’s in ash

Before I take my last breath, I question the ever
If eager, creative minds will hide and gnash
If fuss no longer must
If in memory, I will remain stronger
If factual stories will have me live forever.

Push boundaries, chase charities
Sympathy rise
But never give way to skies.

Walls mount high
Regulations only know stern
But they shall burn
Long as authenticity doesn’t die

Displace boundaries; These tragedies
Engulfed by lies
To Discover: roadmaps to the prize

It reminds me of Home.

Where exclamations did not reach stopping points

Where grown men roared

With growls and excitement stretching for

Ears of neighborhoods behind where the sun sets.

Oh, these men moved mountains

Each time the reoccurring cheers and slams were

Daring

Enough to penetrate dreams.

And the women moved mountains, too.

Whenever whatever stops them

From seeing where the sun rise.
